Daniel Clegg was born in Norfolk, England in 1982. He showed an interest for, and ability working with, the Image from an early age. After several years studying the moving image he turned his attention to photography and painting.

Upon leaving university he lived briefly in Barcelona before travelling Europe, North America and North Africa. He later spent several years living and painting in Paris. It was in Paris where he organised his first successful solo exhibitions and participated in a number of collaborations and workshops with other artists.

His painting style is inspired by the Abstract expressionists, the impressionists and the optical art movement. His palette too takes inspiration from the impressionists but also from modern synthetic colours rarely seen in natural world. The imagery draws from a range of inspirations, it is intended to represent that which cannot be expressed in other forms. Daniel wishes to express in his work that which is imagined or unviewable in the standard visual sphere.

Daniel is currently based in a Norfolk studio where he continues to produce work and develop projects of increasing size and complexity.
