Pembrokeshire born artist Jessie has recently completed her Master of Fine Art degree at Cardiff School of Art & Design. Prior to this she studied in Liverpool where she obtained her BA (Hons) in Fine Art & Design with Media. Whilst in her graduating year in Liverpool she was awarded a Wyn Vivian Purchase Prize Award as well as The Rector’s Mission & Values Award for contributing in expressing the University’s mission and values through art.

Jessies current practice responds energetically to a succession of both emotional and physical journeys, incorporating ideas based on organic pattern, movement and fluidity. Scale and portability are fundamental concerns within the work thus the process of macro photography is initially employed in order to capture the intricate and concealed details found within the Pembrokeshire landscape before they are represented in larger dimensions. My expressionistic outcomes are strongly dictated to by process which has led to a juxtaposition of a variety of media, textures and gestural marks within the work
