About Evelin Kasikov
Evelin Kasikov is an artist and designer. Born in Estonia, lives and works in London. She started to experiment with craft during her MA at Central Saint Martins in 2006, and quickly became known for her original CMYK embroidery technique. Using no ink whatsoever she creates handmade prints by transforming colour halftones into cross-stitch. Her approach to craft is analytical and firmly rooted in her graphic design background. She uses typography, grid systems and design techniques to challenge the preconceptions of embroidery.
Evelin's work has been exhibited both in the UK and abroad, most recently at the Clerkenwell Design Week 2010 and London Design week 2010. Her CMYK cross-stitch works have been published in design books and magazines worldwide.
