About Juan Sly
An artist in exhibiting in mainly Spray Stencils and Oils. He has exhibited at the Saatchi (a proper gallery with pillars and everything!) alongside the likes of Banksy, Terry O'Neil, Tracy Emin and Vic Reeves and now has a permanent collections at the Cut-Up in Germany, "Outside the Square" opposite the Tate and other galleries around the globe. His works rock from humour to anti-war , sex to surreal. Particularly fond of the stencil medium as it allows him to quickly respond to events and gives the work that gritty illegal look. The stencils naturally allow the works to be resprayed and so become affordable and disposable, you can find them in the legal offices in the Temple or stuck to a fence in Bristol.
Get an original while they are still affordable. You have been warned.

Just received my R2D2 Special Edition. A break up present to myself for my birthday and I f..king love it!
Original art at an an affordable price!
People seem to be too preoccupied with the medium, I don't get it - art is art end of!
For all the disbelievers and those who'd like to discredit your work, let them try to do it themselves.
Warhol didn't even touch most of his prints but id still kill for a Liz Taylor or Debbie Harry.
Fine work fella, in the modernist tradition of artistic freedom.
Barbs and Stripes next!
I love it!

Hey Bunny that's great> Thanks for your support. Loads of people get at me, I don't know why, I just say something funny or suggest that people stop killing each other? Galleries keep telling me to up my prices for some reason, the postage can be a bit of a killer esp abroad but otherwise it's ok. I've not had any order from you ?? I dunno if you have but if so let me know cos maybe somits gone wrong techwise and I'll send you a free one or something..
ta a lot

Did these people actually buy anything or are they just bitching at the way you produce your work? Not a problem for me I'd much rather purchase your authentic recycled newspaper than buy a poster that a zillion other people have.

Can't believe what I've read on here why don't people look at and understand what they are buying ? Not got my sons pressy yet but I know both I and he will love it I'm even going to but another one for my other son in about 5 mins from now. Keep on producing your stuff it's great.

"I have noticed that in all walks of like if you do something different, something innovative and new the forces of vested interest crawl out from beneath their rocks of mediocrity and drag it down and try to drown it before it is born. Even in the world of art, where the new is expected, the self appointed Art Police cruise the gutters of self importance to impose their opinion on others. Of course, if what you do really catches on they will be right behind you and have been from the start. Ha!" ...Sly

A new work by the Artist Sly. Known for his irreverent spray painting this is his only recent oil painting. Looking at life with a new perspective is literally true with this painting. The cosy neutrality of office life shows differently to the Peeping Tom Artist that sees maybe into true thoughts and desires of those who sit quietly around us.

Dear Mike,
Thank you for your comments. As you may have read elsewhere by now all the paintings for sale are individually done for each customer as required, As for "just out to make money" they are on sale from about 32 inc pp - now come on! That's hardly profiteering!!! Now take off gallery fees, paint, the hangers and packaging and postage, Ha!
The paintings make people either smile or raise issues of human rights and suggest we all try to stop killing each other.
As for being terrible quality I'm sorry I'll try to do better. On that issue keeping looking at this page over the next couple of weeks; you may be a little surprised
Have a good one

Dear Disgusted customer,
"Passing off" is incorrect as the production technique, ie I sit down and do them all individually with no printing process involved, is adequately explained on any site where they are for sale. If it not adequately explained will change things accordingly. Additionally, all sales adhere to the "distance selling act" refunds are naturally available to unsatisfied customers.
As far as my opinion on canvas is concerned I can have any opinion I like. Others can have their opinion too and as so many people want them on canvas I do it as requested.
Last night I "mass produced" 2 paintings as I was asked to by a highly respected art gallery in Europe. The gallery and I are carrying message against war and terrorism:
WTF did you do?
Hope that helps
Sly ;-)

Dear Sarah,
What I suggest is that you have a go as it's soooo easy: come up with an idea other people will find interesting then get a newspaper and paint it and then spray your image, then put hangers onto it then decide how much you should get for it. Then send it to me. I will send you a free one of mine in exchange, I suggest you try this one

Looking forward to your artwork

Sly is a fitting name for what you are doing, passing off mass produced stencil paintings as originals. I bought one of your "original paintings" not long ago and aswell as it being awful quality, I was disgusted to find how many of the same "original paintings" you are selling. You also said you don't use canvas as that is far too trite, yet you are now spraying onto them as you know you can pass that off as slightly different and run another 75 editions off. Soon you will be found out and I personally can't wait for that day.

Let me get this right, you spray paint over a stencil onto newspaper? How do you do that? That is amazing!!! So talented... NOT. Complete fraud. I only hope these galleries find out the hard way when they see the damage you are doing to their image.

Mass produced rubbish. You are not an artist. Just out to make money. Surprised these galleries are supporting this.

Wrong - Each one is individually done for each order and consequently is always a little different, so not mass produced - rubbish, yes! Ha,ha,ha,ha, ha, ha!!! Sly x

I can't believe galleries are letting this guy sell mass produced rubbish just to make money. Goes against original art.
